Celebrities Finally Step Up And Use Their Platform As Voices Against Injustice In America

In the past few weeks there has been tragedy after tragedy in a country that had us all under the impression of “Freedom”.

African Americans are constantly victimized and descriminated against when we practically built America with our bare hands.
Last Tuesday a Baton Rouge native, husband and father by the name of Alton Sterling was gunned down at the hands of BRPD officers on camera. Sterling was selling CDs outside ofva supermarket with the permission of the store owner.
The police officers are seen on video slamming Alton to the ground while restraining both arms. Suddenly out of nowhere you can hear one officer yell “he got a gun” followed by him unloading six bullets into Alton’s chest.
From the video, it is evident that Sterling’s hands are empty and in no way shape or form was he holding a firearm.
The same day and to a nations disbelief, another African American male by the name of Philando Castile, was racially profiled against and pulled over in his vehicle. Philando explained to the Minnesota Police Officer that he had a gun in the vehicle but was legally licensed to carry.
From the video recording, Philando’s spouse is explaining to everyone that the officer asked him to get his license and as soon as he reached for the license, the officer shot him four times.
The entire encounter seems to be evident of coldblooded murder.
A few days later Alva Braziel was shot ten times by the Houston Police while walking down the street. Witnesses say that he was simply minding his business before being gunned down. I got a chance to view a short video of Braziel holding his hands in the air before being unloaded on.
Following these killings, the entire country is unsettled and constantly in fear of being shot by the very badge that vowed to protect and serve. All of that while families are left to bury their loved ones and children are now fatherless.
Celebrities such as Lebron James, Alicia Keys, Common, Beyonce, Queen Latifah, Tracee Ellis Ross, Chris Rock, The Game, Snoop Dogg, Ice Cube, Yandy Smith, Pharrell Williams, Chris Brown Carmelo Anthony and more spoke messages of encouragement, hope, unity and political activism.
Snoop Dogg and The Game took to the streets of L. A. and unified longtime rival gang members, Crips and Bloods tobstepnup and protect their communities instead of destroying it.
Carmelo Anthony called on his fellow athletes to get serious about a fight against corruption in politics.
Yandy Smith-Harriss held a meeting of unity in New York.
Beyonce held a special vigil at her concert while the names of the many victims of police brutality displayed on a huge projected screen.
T. I. took to the streets of Atlanta and protested side by side with the citizens.
It is about time that these role models take on the positions of power they have and demand action, build our black communities and stand with the citizens in this ongoing struggle. They have the ability to organize and persuade change quicker than the average American which is one the most important decisions that they will ever make in their careers/lives. The revolution must be taken seriously by any means necessary.

It’s been so long since we’ve heard new music from the triple threat artist but it was worth the wait. The new single is titled ‘Beggin And Pleadin’.

In the song, Brandy is telling her ex to take his name back. What a powerful message for single folks everywhere.

Come Again? Julie Delpy: “I Sometimes Wish I Were African American…”

It looks as if frustration over Hollywood’s diversity debate erupted over at the Sundance Film Festival on Friday, as actress/writer, Julie Delpy expressed that she felt muzzled by the industry and added that there’s “nothing worse than being a woman in this business.”

Delpy, who was Oscar-nominated as a writer both for “Before Midnight” and “Before Sunset,” said that she said she has raised awareness over the issue of how few women were members of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, and was shut down.

“Two years ago, I said something about the Academy being very white male, which is the reality, and I was slashed to pieces by the media,” she told TheWrap’s Jeff Sneider. ”

It’s funny — women can’t talk. I sometimes wish I were African American because people don’t bash them afterward.”
I’m just lost all the way around with this statement. How does her dilemma compare to the mistreatment of African Americans? People these days just seem to have no filter. The racial hatred, slavery and unjustified killings of black people is not to be taken lightly or compared with such foolishness. No ma’am Ms. Delpy, you can’t possibly wish such suffering. This idiotic quote may be a publicity stunt in order to bring more awareness to your beliefs but we are not pawns in your chest game and you should tread light from now on. This sort of silly behavior is one of the many reasons why this nation has and is so divided. No values or respect for other cultures!
For that unacceptable stunt, Julie, you are no doubt, the weakest link!!!

Come Again? Battle Of The Gossipers

What’s really going on right now? Celebrity gossip hosts Wendy Williams and Sandra Rose are at each others throats. FYI: Wendy Williams is allegedly known to be good friends with the blog.

Yesterday, Sandra Rose blasted the popular Talk Show host, Williams about a cease and desist letter received from an attorney. Isn’t that the pot calling the kettle black? How can you make millions on celebrity gossip, then when someone blasts you, you crumble and bring legal action?

I’m not exactly sure what took place to stir up the battle but what I will say is if you dish out rumors, gossip and news, you should be able to take what comes with it as well. Just speaking the truth.

Check out the article from sandrarose.com below:

Former friend of the blog, daytime talk show maven Wendy Williams, slapped Sandrarose.com with a Cease & Desist on Thursday.

The tersely worded C&D, sent via email, demanded that I immediately remove Wendy’s name and image from my blog.

The confidentiality clause contained within the email prevents me from divulging which material Wendy objected to. Suffice it to say she was unhappy with the content of one of my blog posts that was lifted from Facebook.com.

Wendy retained high powered legal goons from California who waited until the cover of darkness to email the cease & desist around 10 p.m. last night. I assume there are no competent law firms in New York where Wendy lives?

From this day forth Wendy Williams is to be considered persona non grata on this blog.

For those of you who were educated in the New York and California public school systems, “persona non grata” simply means Wendy is no longer a friend of this blog.

What Happened To 16 Yr. Old Gynnya Mcmillen

This news was brought to us by The Hush Report- Gynnya McMillen, a 16 y/o child was found dead in police custody earlier this week. Police say they have no explanation for her death.

Gynnya McMillen died in a juvenile detention center in Elizabethtown, Kentucky.
Officials are not releasing any information. All they’re saying is that she was found unresponsive Jan 11, 2016 at the Lincoln Village Regional Center earlier that day. They’re not saying where she was found.

So Kentucky cops seem to have a thing against Black females. They allegedly beat Antwynetta Houston and killed McMillen.

If I search Gynnya Mcmillen and look under news, there is nothing. Nothing. How is there nothing?!?

Mainstream media didn’t cover this death. We demand answers.

Not only are our black adults coming up dead but our children are falling victim in police custody.
