2016 Snow Blizzard In Full Effect

img_20160124_035856.jpg

Friday night brought along the whitest winter that we’ve ever seen. The entire east coast is under massive amounts of snow.

Be safe out there! #Blizzard2016 #snowchallenge #topcelebblog #bloghive💄 #fullmoon

A post shared by TopRevolutionaryBlog™ (@toprevolutionaryblog) on

Not only did the east coast area get buried but the south got a little bit of it too. In states such as New York, Maryland and Philadelphia, the residents are actually diving in and are completely buried to the point where you can’t see them.

Since majority of the citizens are undoubtedly snowed in, they decided to make the best out of a terrifying situation by participating in the snow challenge.

We have all literally been laughing out loud at the non-stop videos being posted on social media. The videos vary from jumping off roofs into the snow to hilarious swim competitions. Someone even captured a panda bear rolling around enjoying himself.

The vehicles are completely covered and one resident captured a photo of the snow way past the knob on the door, which is taller than many people. It’s quite unbelievable at this point but its great that they’re having fun!

Wendell Pierce Built 75 Homes For His Community

img_20160121_220706.jpg

Native of New Orleans actor and activist Wendell Pierce talks about how insurance companies discouraged poor and black families from returning to New Orleans after Katrina by refusing to honor homeowner policies. Pierce, whose great-grandfather came to New Orleans as a slave in the 1800s, talks about how Allstate gave his parents just $400 after they paid premiums for 50 years. Pierce also writes about his family in his new book, “The Wind in the Reeds: A Storm, a Play, and the City That Would Not Be Broken.”

In 2005, when Katrina shockingly destroyed his old neighborhood, he returned to Pontchartrain Park to revitalize the neighborhood and has built 75 new homes and plans on doubling that number.

WENDELL PIERCE: “I remember the greatest crime that ever happened, I think, was 10 years ago, when none of the large insurance companies honored the homeowner policies. My parents paid Allstate for 50 years, when they moved into Pontchartrain Park in 1955 up to the day we evacuated, and we’re still paying after the flood, because my mother said it can burn down at any time. And for those 50 years of premiums, they received $400. They said, “That’s all we’re going to pay.” There was a lawsuit, a class-action lawsuit, years later that everyone participated in to try to get some sort of mediation, and we lost the class-action suit. So, all of those insurance companies that sold insurance to my parents for years, saying that “You will be made whole. Have some flood insurance, and along with your homeowners’ insurance, when you put them together, you will be made whole,” they only gave them $400 after 50 years of paying premiums.”

“It is the African-American aesthetic: in spite of the challenge, in spite of the oppression, I will survive. And that’s on display in New Orleans, and that’s the reason 10 years after the fact, we are back to where we are.”

R. Kelly Opens Up About, Aaliyah, Bill Cosby And Being Molested In The Past

After dramatically walking off set during a recent interview, one could be forgiven for assuming R. Kelly isn’t interesting in tackling tricky topics.

img_20160121_124841.jpg

However, in a dramatic chat with GQ (presumably to promote new album ‘The Buffet)’, R&B’s Pied Piper sounds off on a number of controversial topics. Including, but not limited to, the Bill Cosby sexual assault scandal, his own childhood abuse, and Aaliyah. The quotes below are likely to shock…

On Being Abused As A Child By A Female Relative:
“[It happened] every other day, every other week” for multiple years growing up: As far as I can remember, about [age] 7 or 8 to maybe 14, 15. Something like that.At first, I couldn’t judge it. I remember it feeling weird. I remember feeling ashamed. I remember closing my eyes or keeping my hands over my eyes. I remember those things, but couldn’t judge it one way or the other fully.” [Over time, as I got older] I remember actually, after a couple of years, looking forward to it sometimes. You know, acting like I didn’t, but did… It teaches you to definitely be sexual earlier than you should have, than you’re supposed to. You know, no different than putting a loaded gun in a kid’s hand––he gonna grow up being a shooter, probably. I think it affects you tremendously when that happens at an early age. As I’m older, I’ve only learned to forgive it. Was it wrong? Absolutely. But it’s a family member that I love so I would definitely say no to that one. To be honest, even if my mom, I saw her kill somebody, I’m not gonna say, ‘Well, yeah, she definitely should go to jail.’ It’s just something I wouldn’t do.[Editor’s note:Part of Kelly’s forgiveness comes from his belief that the abuse stemmed from “a generational curse, so to speak, going down through the family. Not just started with her doing that to me.”

On Bill Cosby Allegations:
“Well, my opinion on that is, I don’t know what happened. I’m a fan of Bill Cosby’s from the Bill Cosby show, of course––who’s not?––and for me to give my opinion on something that I have no idea if it’s true or not, all I can say is that it was a long time ago. And when I look on TV and I see the 70-, 80-, 90-year-old ladies talking about what happened when they were 17, 18, 19, there’s something strange about it… If God showed me that they were telling the truth, I would say that’s wrong. I don’t care if it was a zillion years ago. But God would have to do that, because God is the only one can show me that. No man can tell me that. No woman can tell me that. And when you wait 70 years, 50 years, 40 years, to say something that simple, it’s strange. You know why I say that is because it happened to me, and it wasn’t true.”

On Aaliyah:
Kelly speaks at length about his relationship with Aaliyah but when pressed further to talk about their alleged marriage he simply responds, “I did the best I could by writing my book and putting it out there for whoever wants to read about Robert.” (As the interviewer Chris Heath notes: Aaliyah is not mentioned in R. Kelly’s book).

On Being Found Not Guilty:
Regarding the June 2002 trial in which Kelly was indicted for making child pornography (a jury found him not guilty), Kelly gets upset: “When a person is found not guilty, they’re found not guilty. And it doesn’t matter if it’s a murder case, it doesn’t matter what case it is, when they’re found not guilty, they’re not guilty. And I think that a lot of haters out there wanted to see me go down.” So when asked, point blank, if that was him in the video for which he was on trial for child pornography, Kelly pauses. “Because of my lawyers, to this day I cannot have those kind of conversations. Being advised by my lawyers in this.” Even though the trial period is over…. Heath pushes. “Because they could come back to haunt me,” says Kelly. “Things could come back and they can just restart all over again. And I have to protect myself.” {Source}

In the photo you will see the hottest producer, Mannie Fresh alongside ‘Rodeo’ artist Juvenile who took over the charts In 1999.
Lastly, Lil Wayne, Who had mega hits such as, (lollipop), ‘Stunting Like my Daddy’, and the list goes on and on.

Turk, can be seen in the above picture with Birdman, so it’s looking good from here. We have high hopes that he will be involved in the historic Hip Hop reunion album.

img_20160117_234450.jpg

This group grew up together and were more than just group members, they are brothers that had a falling out due to money owed to certain members.
With the recent makeup from Lil Wayne and Birdman, it seems as if they’ve all had a change of heart and was probably paid the change owed to them.

We’re super excited for a moment of history to be made.

Mos Def Arrested In South Africa: 14 Days To Relocate

Come on dude! 🚔🚨👮🏽👎🏽 #mosdef #hiphop #southafrica

A post shared by Michelle Madden (@madd_skill) on

According to USA Today,According to a spokesman for the South African Department of Home Affairs, rapper Mos Def, who now goes by the name Yasiin Bey, was arrested at Cape Town International Airport for trying to leave the country on an illegal ‘World Passport’ document.

The rapper and his family has been given 14 days to relocate allegedly.

What’s even more confusing about this entire ordeal is, Yasiin is an American citizen, so why on earth would they not allow him back into the States?

The accusations are not adding up and his arrest seems bogus. Good luck to our brother, Mos Def.

Time and time again, we attempt to block out all ignorant discriminatory behavior either by different races, countries, governments and religions but it’s there.
